Our Triskele Earrings began with a pair of Victorian buttons centered by a tiny triple spiral and adorned with 18th-century faceted cut-steel rivets—the kind of wonderfully engineered ornaments designed to sparkle in candlelight. Every curve, line and beautifully timeworn detail has been preserved through lost-wax casting in solid bronze.
The triskele, or triskelion, is one of humanity’s oldest enduring symbols. A triple spiral was carved into the stones of Newgrange in Ireland more than 5,000 years ago; related three-part motifs later appeared on ancient Greek pottery and coinage and throughout Celtic decorative art. Its original meaning is lost to time, but its turning geometry continues to evoke movement, transformation and the cycles of life. These earrings feel ancient, Victorian and completely modern—all at once. Vintage. Bold. Timeless.
This pair is finished with ruby zoisite and Swarovski crystal.
