Our Belle Époque Ring began with a magnificent octagonal button made in Paris in the 1850s by Trelon, Weldon & Weil, a distinguished Paris button manufacturer established under that name in 1845. Its original maker’s mark—T.W. & W. PARIS—still survives on the reverse, a notable firm with clients in the the French aristocracy in 1851.
It was an extraordinary moment for Parisian style. During the Second Empire, Paris was becoming an international showcase for luxury, fashion, and decorative arts; the 1855 Exposition Universelle and the birth of haute couture later that decade helped establish the city’s enduring reputation as the capital of elegance.
The button itself is a tiny work of art: a glorious dimensional blossom framed by handmade cut-steel rivets and exquisite geometric details. We preserve the original design in solid bronze and pair it with a solid sterling silver band finished with our hand-granite texture.
A little piece of 1850s Paris, transformed from an artifact of daily life into a bold, wearable treasure.
