Explore behind the scenes in the Compass Rose Design Studio. All our work is handmade just north of San Francisco, California, and reflects a bit of treasure renewed into a unique and beautiful keepsake.
Made from Antiques, Inspired by History.
We work with real antique buttons, keys and other artifacts. Most of the buttons in our collections date between 1880 and 1920. Our collection is inspired by the fascinating histories of small things.
Recycled Metal
We care about authenticity, craft and quality in our designs. We also are committed to an ethical production process and supply chain. Our casting is done by a small shop in Seattle using recycled metal. All the bronze and silver in our pendants is recycled and ethically sourced.
Our metal and chain supplier is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council and provides recycled metals whenever possible - with few exceptions, their sterling silver and gold is recycled. Our chains are made in the United States.

Our design, metalwork and production is done in our studio just north of San Francisco.
