This Western Columbine flower design dates to the early 20th century and celebrates elegant flower from the genus Aquilegia. Their latin names are inspired by similarity to bird shapes: the spurred flowers looking like eagle claws and the inverted blossom looks like a cluster of doves. It is the state flower of Colorado and appears in beautiful shades of blues, purples, pinks and whites that make hillsides come alive with color.
