Made with an original souvenir medal from the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. The fair celebrated the completion of the Panama Canal and served as a showcase for San Francisco's recovery from the 1906 earthquake. The medal is dated 1915 and depicts a detailed scene of the sun setting in the Golden Gate (15 years before there was a Golden Gate Bridge) with the city in the foreground. This piece is accented with jasper and agate gemstones in autumn shades that accentuate the vintage medal patina perfectly.
